Grape Variety - 59% Pinot Noir (7% Red) - 36% Chardonnay - 5% Pinot Meunier.
A.B.V.- 12.0%.
Location of production - All Langham Estate wines are made using grapes grown at our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted solely with the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The site was carefully selected for its south facing slope and free-draining chalk subsoil.
Visual - A luminous and elegant mid salmon colour.
Nose - The wine offers aromas aplenty of cherry bakewell, pink lady apple skin, raspberry yoghurt & wild strawberries.
Taste - Fresh red berry profile, but it is also more serious & has great depth. Cherry yoghurt, young wild strawberry & raspberry coulis bring the fruit profile to the forefront, whilst a more savoury & saline note rounds off the wine.
Vinification - The grapes for the base vintage were picked in October 2019 & gently pressed, whole bunch. Press fractions were carefully separated & left to naturally settle for 24 hours. Primary fermentation took place in a combination of stainless-steel tanks & used oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Following 7 months of élevage, the final blend was created including 7% red wine & 18% reserve wine. It was then bottled & left to age on lees for a minimum of 20 months. At disgorgement the wine received 2 g/L dosage & was aged for a minimum of 4 months under cork.Serving Temperature: 6-8 °C
