Grape Variety - 65% Pinot Noir - 25% Chardonnay - 10% Pinot Meunier.
A.B.V.- 12.0%.
Location of production - All Langham Estate wines are made using grapes grown at our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted solely with the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The site was carefully selected for its south facing slope and free-draining chalk subsoil. The soil consists of a shallow clay loam, containing flint, over deep Cretaceous chalk.
Visual - A luminous and elegant pale golden colour.
Nose - Bright red cherry, cranberry peach, apple blossom, strawberry leaf, English hedgerow, pecan and buttered toast.
Taste - Exiting lemon posset, shortbread, white strawberry, rhubarb and a hint of salinity. There is a long finish which leaves you wanting more.
Vinification - The grapes for the base vintage were picked in October 2020 and gently pressed in whole bunches. Press fractions were carefully separated and left to naturally settle for 24 hours. Primary fermentation, with indigenous yeasts, took place in a combination of stainless-steel tanks and used oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Following 7 months of élevage, the final blend, complete with reserve wine from our 4000 L concrete tanks, was bottled and left to age on lees for a minimum of 14 months. At disgorgement the wine received 1.5 g/L dosage and was aged for a minimum of 3 months under cork.
Serving Temperature: 6-8 °C
